The former Cistercian nunnery Wasserleben, also known as Waterler Abbey, is located in the Harz region of Saxony-Anhalt. It was once a significant spiritual center and now stands as a historical testament to monastic culture.

History+

The foundation of Wasserleben Abbey took place around the year 1300. It was dedicated to the Holy Blood and served as a nunnery of the Cistercian Order. In 1687, the monastery was dissolved and secularized, marking the end of its original function.
