Verkündigungs-St. Justin-Monastery

The monastery was founded as an offshoot of the Skete of Saint Spyridon in Geilnau. In 2010, a former mill property was acquired to serve as the monastic courtyard. Construction of the accompanying church began in 2014, following Patriarch Irinej's blessing of the site in 2013. The church, a cross-domed structure, is modeled after the Serbian Gradac Monastery church from the late 13th century. In 2015, the dome cross was installed, and exterior work was completed. The monastery holds a dual patronage, dedicated to Saint Justin Popović and the Annunciation of the Lord, as Justin's birth and death, according to the Julian calendar, fall on this feast day.

The monastery is situated in Unterufhausen, a district of Eiterfeld, within the Hersfeld-Rotenburg region of Hesse, Germany. It belongs to the Serbian Orthodox Diocese for Central Europe.

Currently, the monastery is inhabited by a single monk, which is why it is still referred to as a hermitage. Following the renovation of the monastic courtyard and the completion of the church, the relocation of additional monks from Geilnau is planned. The 16-meter-high church was constructed using solid wood and features concrete basement rooms intended for common or dining areas. The interior is slated for plastering and fresco decoration.
