Das Unterschloss+

The Unterschloss was built as a baroque country palace under Friedrich Leopold von Adelsheim (1691 to 1763) by the master builder Johann Jakob Rischer from 1734 to 1738, replacing the moated castle destroyed by fire in 1733. The historic Rentamt (rent office) of the Lords of Adelsheim is also located in the palace park. The former manorial tithe barn is now used as the Bauländer Local History Museum.

The original moated castle was built by the Lords of Dürn around 1298. Several alterations took place in 1338, 1374, and 1573.
