History of the Building+
The castle was built in 1697 by Franz Marquard vom Stain zum Rechtenstein, replacing an old castle. From 1860 to 1966, the castle served as the community's schoolhouse. Since 1984, the castle has housed the Bavarian School Museum as a branch museum of the Bavarian National Museum.
