The Lower Castle+

The Lower Castle was built in 1577 as an administrative court. In 1692, the court burned down and was subsequently rebuilt. From 1905-08, the castle was re-erected on the walls of the old administrative court by Mr. Vollmöller. The castle complex and the Lower Castle were connected by a shared flank wall. Since 1960, the Lower Castle has served as a conference venue for the Evangelical State Church ("House of the Children's Church"). Next to the castle is the castle press.
