The Gate can be visited
Town Fortification Rothenburg-Rödertor (Röder Gate)
When you pass through the Rödertor Gate, your eye will first light on the two customs and watch huts with their pointed roofs. These flank the outer gate of the Rödertor Gate. The outer bailey stretches behind this. Attackers who had successfully reached the outer bailey could also be fended off from the side towers.
The main tower is the oldest part of the gate complex. It dates back to the 13th century, while the half-timbered upper level was added later.
