Who built this castle in Rorschach is not precisely known. In the 12th and 13th centuries, it belonged to the nobles of Rorschach, who served the Abbot of St. Gallen. From 1449, the castle was the seat of the monastery's Vogt. In 1509, a chapel dedicated to Saint Anna was consecrated.
Today, this castle is privately owned by an artist who, with his paintings of the Lake Constance landscape, promotes the beauty of the region between the lake and the mountains even in distant countries.
