The Former Bachern Castle+
The former castle in Bachern was built in 1595 by the Holy Cross Monastery (Augsburg) and was a three-story, four-wing complex with domed corner turrets. This building was demolished in the 19th century. Two single-story outbuildings, standing at right angles to each other and connected by a round-arched gate, have been preserved. To the left of the gate entrance, on the east front, there is a coat of arms stone with the inscription "Antonius P. 1595" below the coats of arms of Provost Anton Beurer and the Holy Cross Monastery, Augsburg.
