Zwiefaltendorf Castle
Zwiefaltendorf Castle is a castle in the Zwiefaltendorf district of Riedlingen, at the confluence of the Zwiefalter Aach with the Danube in the Biberach district of Baden-Württemberg.
The history of Zwiefaltendorf Castle dates back to the 11th century, when the Zwiefaltendorf moated castle stood here. Duke Ulrich of Württemberg had this castle and the entire village of Zwiefaltendorf burned down in 1517.
The current Zwiefaltendorf Castle is mentioned in documents around 1660. From 1441, the complex was owned by the Speth families, and from 1878 it belonged to the Barons von und zu Bodman. From 1982 to 1985, the two-story building with corner oriel windows and pointed helmet roofs was renovated. Since 1999, it has belonged to the Junger and Seiz families from Metzingen. The castle is now used for conferences, presentations, and other individual events.
