Die Anfänge
Bereits zum Ende des 13. Jahrhunderts wurden der Wohnturm und der Wehrturm des jetzigen Schlosses Willershausen erbaut. Eigentümer waren die Treusch von Buttlar bis 1757. Das Schloss kam 1757 an die von Kutzleben und die von Bibra. Von 1889 bis 1992 waren die Landgrafen von Hessen Eigentümer des Anwesens. Heute wird von hier aus ein Golfplatz unterhalten.
