The origins of the castle Weyninckhoven goes to the 13th Century. 1265 was a water castle "Wanhijchoeuen" mentioned in the possession of the Wannings, Vano or Waninga family in a charter of St. Rumbold. 1421 is named as owner of the castle Wanecoven a knight Wouter van der List. 1583-1584 the castle was destroyed and in 1598 rebuilt. The present castle was built in the late 18th Century.
