History+
The Marschalk von Ebneth Era
In 1574, Georg Marschalk von Ebneth, episcopal-Bamberg councilor and bailiff, acquired the Weingartsgreuth manor and built the first castle. In 1597, a renovation took place. During the Thirty Years' War, the castle was damaged and subsequently rebuilt.
The Seckendorff-Aberdar Era
In 1705, the current castle was built in Baroque style on parts of the previous structure. In 1726, ownership changed through marriage to the Imperial Barons von Seckendorff-Aberdar. The castle is still inhabited and managed by the family today.
