Wang Castle

The three-story, four-wing building was constructed in 1592 by Wolfgang Nikolaus von Grüntal.

From Noble Residence to Cultural Monument

Originally conceived as a prestigious residence for the noble Grüntal family, the building has undergone numerous transformations over the centuries. It served as an administrative seat, a military hospital, and even a school before being recognized as a protected cultural monument in the 20th century.

The building is a prime example of late Renaissance architecture in the region. Its symmetrical facade, adorned with intricate stone carvings and decorative elements, reflects the aesthetic ideals of the era.

The Grand Hall

The heart of the building is undoubtedly the Grand Hall, characterized by its impressive vaulted ceilings and original frescoes. This space was historically used for banquets, receptions, and other significant events.

The Courtyard
