Untermeitingen Castle

Our castle dates back to the 12th century and was owned by various noble families from Augsburg over the centuries. In the 17th century, the Imhof family expanded the castle into a stately building. To the east, it presents an impressive picture with its three floors and two corner risalits. They project from the building over its entire height and articulate the facade. The entire structure was formerly surrounded by an old wall with shell towers. Inside the castle is a Rococo-style staircase with a magnificently carved railing, the hall with a stucco ceiling and a series of large, baroque oil paintings. Since 1870 until today, it has been owned by the Rieder family.
