From Water Castle to Palace

A water castle was first mentioned in 1269, which was owned by the Counts of Hohenlohe. In 1378, ownership changed to Count Friedrich of Nuremberg. A new building was constructed in 1462. After a fire in the 17th century, the castle was rebuilt. Since 2006, the castle has been closed for repair work. The tax office previously housed there has received a new building opposite.
