Trolle-Ljungby Castle
Castle Trolls Ljungby is a castle in Kristianstad, Skane. The castle was built in 1629 on the remains of an 1525 by Sören Norby ruined castle. The west wing was built in 1633. The east wing, called "Munkelängan" was built in 1787.
The property, which was called Ljungby was probably in the Middle Ages a fortified manor house. It was in the 14th Century owned by the family Billeand later in the families Brostrup, Ulfstand and Gyllenstierna. 1662 bought Peter Julius Coyet the possession. His son, Baron Wilhelm Julius Coyet inherited the estate. Later was the castle owned by Lovisa Ulrika Maria Sparre, who was married to Count Carl-Axel Trolle Wachtmeister. Since then, the castle is in family ownership and is now owned by Captain Count Hans-Gabriel Trolle-Wachtmeister, married to Countess Alice Trolle-Wachtmeister.
