Treuen Castle
History of the Building+
The history of the building is closely linked to the history of the town of Treuen. The town of Treuen was first mentioned in a document in 1328. The manor of Treuen (lower part) was mentioned in 1329. The manor was owned by various noble families over the centuries:
- 1328 first documented mention of the town
- 1329 mention of the knight's estate Treuen lower part
- 1416 Treuen was owned by the von Mylau and von Tettau families
- 1426 the von Wolframsdorf family;
- 1487 the von Hermannsgrün family
- 1510 - 1681 & 1743 - 1810 the von Feilitzsch family, who commissioned
- 1598 the construction of the present castle
- 1810 - 1917 the Adler family
- 1917 - 1945 the Belger family
- 1945 Expropriation and use as living space for resettler families
- May 2004 beginning of renovation by the Schlossverein Treuen e. V. Vogtlandkreis
