Trebnitz Castle

Schloss Trebnitz was first mentioned in a document in 1124, founded by the Silesian monastery of Trebnitz, in whose possession it remained until 1498. In 1730, the 30-hectare park was laid out and later designed by Peter Joseph Lenné and Eduard Neide (a student of Lenné). In 1827, the estate came into the possession of the von Brünneck family. In 1900, the manor house was converted into a neo-baroque castle. In 1945, the owner Harald von Brünneck was dispossessed and expelled by the communists. Subsequently, the castle served, among other things, as a military hospital and school, and in 1992 it was renovated and converted into an education and meeting center.
