The construction of Strömsholm Castle took place in the 1670s, with designs attributed to the renowned architect Nicodemus Tessin d. Ä. A significant portion of the interior decoration visible today dates back to the era of Gustav III. A unique feature is the “Chinese Hall,” adorned with murals in a Chinese style, alongside an extensive collection of paintings. For a century, from 1868 to 1968, the castle served as the home for the Swedish Army's riding and driving school.
