Strauweiler Castle

Strauweiler Castle is a noble residence in the Dhünn valley in Odenthal in the Rheinisch-Bergisch district.
A castle was first mentioned around 1347. In 1414, the castle was destroyed. In 1440, ownership passed to Johann von Quad, who built the present castle. In 1665 and 1862, the castle was expanded. Further owners included the Counts Wolff Metternich zur Gracht and the Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg family, who still own the castle today.
