Sornitz Castle

Sornitz Castle is located west of Meissen, dates from the 16th century and was originally surrounded by a moat. At the corners it had round towers with loophole-like windows. The current owner reports that his grandfather acquired the castle in 1946. Around this time, the entrance gate had to make way for a small door. Decorative elements on the building had to be removed or dismantled. Unfortunately, the decay of the last tower could not be prevented, so the spire had to be removed. Otherwise, the building is in good condition. Even the castle pond still exists.
