Sitten Castle

A manor house in Sitten is already mentioned in 1213. In 1445 it is referred to as a knight's seat. In 1560, the moated castle was built on the walls of a previous building by Hans von Kötteritzsch. In 1729, the castle was rebuilt. In 1890, ownership changed to Emil Naumann and in 1915 to the Naumann Family Foundation. In 1945, the owners were dispossessed and expelled by the communists. The castle is currently used as a school.
