Seeburg Castle (Iseltwald)

Seeburg Castle is a castle in the municipality of Iseltwald in the canton of Bern. In 1907, Gottfried Siegrist, a merchant from Bern, had the buildings then standing on the site demolished and re-erected at the entrance to the village. He built a villa in the southern style on the peninsula, but it was no longer inhabited shortly after its completion. In 1927, the villa became the property of the Evangelical Diakonieverband Ländli, which converted the "Seeburg" into a convalescent home. Since September 1987, the "Seeburg" has been a congress, conference, education and health resort center.
