Schneeburg Castle
Schneeburg Manor is located in the municipality of Mils bei Hall in Tyrol.
The late Gothic manor on the western edge of the village was built in 1553 by Hans Schneeberger von Salthaus. In 1581, his son Ruprecht Schneeberger acquired the right to the name Schneeburg for himself and the manor, and from 1581 to 1583, he built the eastern tower, shaped like a keep, which originally had battlements. In 1633, the brothers Hans Dietrich von Schneeburg and Hans Wolfgang von Schneeburg extended the manor with a north wing and enlivened the facades with five corner oriels. After the earthquake of 1670, the battlements of the tower were removed and a half-hipped roof was added.
The architectural articulation of the facade painting and its figural scenes are in the Renaissance style. Also in the Renaissance style, the interior features two doors with ruin architecture from 1558 by an artist from the circle of Hans Waldner. Furthermore, there are two Renaissance tiled stoves. There is early Baroque panelling from 1661.
From the former house chapel, there is an altarpiece of the Assumption of Mary by Franz Lucchese from 1605.
