Schköna Castle

The castle in Schköna was probably built in the 16th century. The owner was the wealthy Slavic noble family Rabiel zu Pouch. In 1728, Count Ludwig zu Solm bought the estate for 20,000 Thalers. In 1827, it came into the possession of the von Bodenhausen family. They had a new building erected in 1880. After their expropriation and expulsion by the communists in 1945, an orphanage was established, which existed until 2001. In 2005, the castle was sold into private hands.
