Roth Castle

Roth Castle

To be privately owned

The former Commandery of the Knights Templar was first mentioned in a document in 1248. The oldest parts of the complex are the cellars (13th century), the stair tower (16th century), and the gatehouse (17th century), as well as parts of the curtain wall. The castle was largely rebuilt in 1733 under the Knights Hospitaller/Maltese and reconstructed in 1958 after the destructions of the World War. The complex has been in private ownership since 1797.
