Das Schloss wurde im 16. Jahrhundert errichtet und im 30-jährigen Krieg teilweise zerstört. Der nördliche Teil des Hauptbaues und Reste der Ringmauer und Türme der Burg sind noch erhalten.
“Anno domi 1540 do Hot der edel un ernvest Gotfridt vo Berlichen dis Haus erbaudt” Diese Inschrift findet sich an einem Torhaus mit rundbogiger Durchfahrt des Schlosses Rossach.
