Reelsen Castle

The village of Reelsen was originally home to a knight's seat belonging to the noble family von Oeynhausen. In 1787, Count Ferdinand Ludwig von Schulenburg-Oeynhausen had new buildings erected in the village as a knight's seat. Count Cuno von Oeynhausen built the manor house outside the village from 1871 to 1872. In 1995, the castle underwent renovation work.

Buildings and Furnishings
Representative country estate from the second half of the 19th century with historicist design elements. The park is adorned with stone vases, semicircular benches, and baroque/neo-baroque garden sculptures. In the northern axis of the main building are two outbuildings, one of which has a conservatory extension or orangery.
