Rauenberg Castle
Rauenberg Castle in Rauenberg, a town in the Rhein-Neckar-Kreis (Baden-Württemberg), was built starting in 1737. The building is a protected historical monument.
The castle was built starting in 1737 on the vaults and foundations of a former moated castle. It served as the official residence for the Prince-Bishopric of Speyer; above the portal is the coat of arms of Prince-Bishop August von Limburg-Stirum (1721–1797). The two-story, horseshoe-shaped complex is functionally designed and without special architectural ornamentation.
Current Use+
In 1986, the Rauenberg Winegrowers' Museum opened its doors in the castle. It displays numerous exhibits focusing on viticulture and rural village life.
