Ratzenried Castle

History+
The castle (formerly a fortress) was built in 1498-1502 by Jacob Humpiß von Ratzenried, destroyed in 1632, and rebuilt by 1680. In 1746-48, the N-wing and N-tower were added. In 1845, further expansion took place (battlements). Owners included Paul Joseph von Beroldingen (1813), the Waldburg-Zeil family (1902-49), and Norbert Güthling (1974).
