Puchstein Castle

Schloss Puchstein is first mentioned in 822. In the Middle Ages, it served to monitor salt shipping. At the end of the 17th century, the castle was rebuilt into its present form.

Since 1982, the castle has housed the Puchstein Castle Museum. It offers visitors a fascinating insight into the history of the castle and the region. The museum's highlights include:

• The medieval knights' hall with its impressive armour collection.
• The Baroque state rooms with their magnificent stucco ceilings and frescoes.
• The castle chapel with its valuable altar and historical stained glass windows.

The Puchstein Castle Museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Admission for adults is €8, reduced admission is €5. Family tickets are available for €18.

Schloss Puchstein is easily accessible by car or public transport. Parking is available directly at the castle. The nearest bus stop is only a 5-minute walk away.
