Das Schloss wurde in der 2. Hälfte des 13. Jahrhunderts erbaut und 1319 urkundlich erwähnt. Es war im Besitz des Stift Klosterneuburg. 1751 erfolgte ein Neubau durch Franz Jänggl und Franz Anton Pilgram. Das Schloss ist seit 1971 im Besitz von Hermann Nitsch.
