Schloss Prandhof+
Geschichte+
Prandhof Castle was built at the end of the 11th century by the Lords of Grie. From 1124 to 1921, it was owned by Göttweig Abbey. In 1497, the castle burned down and was rebuilt in 1501. In 1618, the castle was plundered by Bohemian troops. From 1728-31, the baroque conversion took place under Abbot Gottfried Bessel according to plans by Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt. In 1975, ownership changed to Friedrich Deutsch, who restored the castle.
