Geschichte
A predecessor building was already mentioned in documents around 1300. In 1392, the castle was owned by Oswald der Schellnstein. Under the Offenheimer zu Piesing, the property was elevated to a Hofmark in 1541. In 1577, a castle in the possession of the Schwabpach family was mentioned for the first time. After a fire, the castle was rebuilt in 1600. From 1740 to 1869, the castle was owned by the Counts of Berchem. In 1869, ownership passed to the Barons of Ow, whose descendants still inhabit the castle today.
