Ovesholm Castle

Ovesholm Castle is a castle in the Träne parish in the municipality of Kristianstad. First known owner the estate was Ake Ugerup in 1580. 1620 the ownership changed to Ove Urup. 1774 Henning Reinhold Wrangel bought the Castle. His son governor Carl Adam Wrangel of Adinal built 1792 to 1804 the present castle. He created in Ovesholm an extensive library with paintings and a sculpture collection. Of Wrangel's son Henning Gustav the property was passed in 1792 to Count Axel Hugo Raoul Hamilton. The castle is still owned by the family.
