Noor Castle is a historic estate in the Swedish region of Uppland, boasting a long history and mentioned in documents as early as the 14th century. It is characterized by its evolution from a royal hunting lodge to a stately building, now privately owned.

History+

The earliest mention of Noor Castle dates back to the 14th century. In 1689, the estate passed to the Swedish Crown and was used by King Charles XI as a hunting lodge. Shortly thereafter, in the same year, the king sold the property to his advisor Nils Gyldenstolpe, who commissioned the architect Jean de la Vallée to build the present castle. In 1761, Carl Hermelin acquired the castle, which then remained in family possession until 1918. Since then, the castle has changed owners several times and is now used as a private conference center.
