Niedernondorf Castle
Niedernondorf Castle is a Renaissance castle in the cadastral community of Niedernondorf in Waldhausen (Lower Austria).
The locality of Niedernondorf was first mentioned in a document in 1292, but the castle itself only at the end of the 15th century. During the Thirty Years' War, the castle was burned down by imperial troops in 1622, but was soon rebuilt and refurnished. In 1655, it is described in the land register as a single-story building with a gate tower, as Vischer shows it in his topography around 1672. Since 1872, the castle has been owned by the Thurn-Valsassina family.
