Neuwaldegg Castle
Schloss Neuwaldegg is a baroque palace in Neuwaldegg, Vienna. It is currently privately owned and rented out for a variety of functions: birthday and anniversary celebrations, business dinners, conferences and seminars (from one day to three weeks), cultural exhibits, film productions, music festivals, photography projects, product presentations, retreats, semesters abroad, wedding parties etc..
The palace was built around 1715, most probably under architect Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach. In 1765 field marshal Franz Moritz Graf von Lacy bought the estate. After his death in 1801, the princely Schwarzenberg family bought the palace and the enormous park. However, over time the building and the gardens fell into a state of general neglect. It has been renovated. There are two obelisks located in the ‘’Schwarzenbergallee’’ (alley), along with a number of statues of Greek gods.
