Neustädtlein Castle

The Castle in Neustädtlein+
The castle in Neustädtlein is barely recognizable as such today. It was built under Margrave Georg Wilhelm (founder of St. Georgen). It probably served as an "upscale farm." It had a cattle shed, and the interior furnishings (inventory list from 1727) also indicate agricultural use. It is also not unlikely that the Margrave himself acted as a "farmer" here. In later years, the building came into bourgeois hands and was virtually divided into two halves internally. The castle suffered from a lack of maintenance - probably also due to the division.
