Neuhof Castle
Gut Neuhof is a former manor house on the right bank of the Weser river in the Heimsen district of the city of Petershagen in the Minden-Lübbecke district.
Due to inheritance disputes, the Gut Neuhof estate was founded in 1599 by Sophie Klenke, the widow of the former owner of Schlüsselburg Castle. This was done by merging four noble estates of the Schlüsselburg outer bailey on the opposite right bank of the Weser. The Electoral Hanoverian chief bailiff Johann Georg Voigt acquired the estate in 1698. At the beginning of the 18th century, he rebuilt all the baroque estate buildings. The arrangement of the main building and the garden was oriented along a central axis starting from the entrance. In 1748, the current manor house was built.
Current Use+
The former estate is privately owned. The complex is partially accessible to the public and is used as a full-time residential facility within the framework of integration assistance.
Buildings and Garden+
Between the main entrance and the two-story manor house, the farm buildings of the estate are located on both sides of the central axis. On the Weser side of the garden, there is a pavilion.
In the 18th century, a baroque garden was laid out. The topography of the baroque garden has been preserved to this day.
