To be privately owned

Mauer Castle is a small castle east of the Pongau town of Radstadt.

Mauer Castle was first mentioned in the 14th century as the seat of Chunradus de Maur. It was a square building with oriel windows. Mauer Castle received its current form in the second half of the 16th century through the Graf zu Schernberg family. Until a fire in 1865, the castle was fortified with four towers. Today, only the two southern ones remain.

Mauer Castle has been in private civilian ownership since the 17th century and is not open to visitors.
