Lühburg Castle
The three-winged castle in Lühburg was built around 1725/30 by Ludolph Friedrich von Bassewitz on a medieval rampart-ditch complex. The Neo-Gothic brick turret at the back indicates a restoration in 1885. In 1945, the communists dispossessed and expelled the von Bassewitz family and subjected the manor house to various uses. From 1992, it was back in private ownership and extensively restored. In 2010, Dorothee Calsow, née Countess von Bassewitz, and her family took over the former house of her great-grandparents.
