Ludwigsburg Castle (Bad Berleburg)

In an enclosed garden area stand two half-timbered buildings arranged offset. The eastern wing was built from 1707 to 1709 under the direction of Johann Hermann Riedesel, the western one commissioned by Count Casimir von Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg. It is dated 1724. The complex partly served as the seat of a comital collateral line. Around 1900, a staircase and corner turrets were built between the two wings. Both parts of the house are decorated with inscriptions and elaborate carved decorations on the half-timbering; the older part with the ornamental forms characteristic of Riedesel.
