Loham Castle

Loham Castle was first mentioned in 1252 as being owned by the Lords of Loham (Perchtold and Eberhard de Lahaim). In 1465, ownership changed to the Lords of Heuraus. In 1588, the medieval moated castle burned down and was subsequently rebuilt in its current form. In 1723, an expansion and renovation took place. In 1900, the moat was leveled.

Further owners included the Keck family, the Barons Schrenck von Notzing, in 1873 Count Konrad von Presysing, and the Preysing von Moos family. After World War II, numerous displaced persons and refugees temporarily found shelter in the castle. Since 1990, the castle and the surrounding garden have been in private ownership.
