Lobstädt Castle
Schloss Lobstädt+
Geschichte+
A manor house in Lobstädt is first mentioned in 1445 as being owned by the von Könneritz family. The castle was built in the first half of the 16th century on the walls of an old fortress. In 1584, ownership transferred to the von Einsiedel family. In the following centuries, the castle was extended and rebuilt several times. Ownership changed in 1820 to Gustav Scholber, in 1877 to Johann Friedrich and Friedrich Ernst Schädel, and in 1910 to the Borna Lignite Works. After World War II, the castle served as a residential building and is now in urgent need of renovation.
