Lind Castle

Lind Castle in the municipality of Maria Saal dates back to a stately manorial estate on formerly ducal land. Between 1143 and 1147, Lind came into the possession of Viktring Abbey as a donation. Later, the property was owned by the Hallegger family for a long time and is now in private hands.

The castle's core dates back to the 16th century. It has a tiled Zollinger roof and a semi-circular, pavilion-like projection with a columned loggia in the roof zone and a flat dome roof from 1920, added to the central axis of the east facade. The interiors feature barrel vaults with irregular lunettes or ribbed cross vaults. The four-bay ribbed cross vault in the upper floor hall dates from the 16th century.

On the east side, a relief from a Roman tomb from the second century AD is immured, depicting a sacrificial servant with a jug and sacrificial napkin. To the side is a tree of life relief with dolphins.
