The construction of Küblis Castle took place in 1642 by Dürig Enderli von Montzwick. Later, the property passed to Captain Andreas von Sprecher through marriage. The construction year 1642 is associated with the conclusion of the Treaty of Feldkirch, which allowed a return to self-governance after the Bündner Wirren. It is presumed that Dürig Enderli awaited this more stable period to realize his building plans. The Enderli von Montzwick family, from which the builder originated, held high offices in the region for centuries.
