Construction and Early Years
Krozingen Castle was built in 1579 by Abbot Caspar II of St. Blasien Monastery. During the Thirty Years' War, the castle was destroyed and subsequently rebuilt. In 1748, the castle was renovated in the Baroque style by master builder Johann Caspar Bagnato. In 1806, ownership transferred to the Barons von Roggenbach and in 1906 to the von Gleichenstein family.
