Kölnhof Castle

The garden gates with neoclassical vases on the pillars feature wrought-iron grilles from the 18th and 19th centuries. The early classical facade with a banded ground floor has simple pilaster strips and sparse braid ornamentation on the upper floor. The projecting corner towers with flat domes and lanterns date from the 1884 renovation. At this time, the original gables were replaced by dormer windows. On the north side, forged window baskets from the 16th century have been preserved. The basket-arch portal with a broken pediment is framed by double pilasters. In the hallway, a memorial plaque for Maria Joseph von Mayerhoffen and his wife Maria Aloisia Countess von Galler from 1778 is installed. On the ground floor, a net-rib vault from the 15th century has been preserved. A Rosalia Chapel is located in the southeastern corner tower. The interior of the castle was largely destroyed by war damage in 1945.
