Klein Plasten Castle

To be privately owned

The estate was owned by the von Plasten family. The castle was built around 1700 by J. Ch. V. Kamptz. From 1789 to 1853, the castle was owned by the von Blücher family. After this, frequent changes of ownership took place. In 1899, the octagonal tower was added. In 1945, the owners were forcibly dispossessed and expelled by the communists. After this, refugees were accommodated. In 1974, Elbewerft Boizenburg acquired the castle and carried out an extensive reconstruction. In 1992, ownership transferred to the Genossenschaftsverband Norddeutschland e.V. The castle was used as a seminar and training center until the end of 2005.
